Support worker pay is governed by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award (SCHADS). 2026 rates: Level 1 $34.10/hr, Level 2 $35.40/hr for base hours. Penalty rates apply: evenings (8pm-6am) +15%, Saturdays +50%, Sundays +100%, public holidays +150%. Allied health professionals (speech pathology, OT, psychology) are typically employed at $90-$150/hr+ depending on qualification level and experience. Sole-trader support workers can invoice participants up to the NDIS Price Guide cap (~$70/hr personal care) but actual take-home depends on their cost base. Many sole traders actually take home $45-$55/hr after costs.
