The full answer
Participant switching happens when: 1) Their current provider doesn't deliver reliably, 2) They hear about you through a coordinator or family network, 3) You deliver noticeably better outcomes or fit. The ethical path: when a participant mentions dissatisfaction with their current provider, offer to be a 'second provider' first, proving your value before they switch entirely. Never cold-contact other providers' participants to pitch. Best strategy: build such strong outcomes and coordinator relationships that coordinators recommend you proactively. The NDIS Code of Conduct requires honest marketing — any claims about why you're better must be defensible.
