The full answer

The Commission is an independent statutory authority, distinct from the NDIA. While the NDIA manages funding and plans, the Commission handles: 1) Provider registration and audit oversight, 2) Worker screening and compliance, 3) Code of Conduct enforcement, 4) Complaint investigation and resolution, 5) Reportable incident investigation, 6) Enforcement action (compliance notices, banning orders, registration cancellation). From 2027, mandatory registration will expand the Commission's regulated provider base significantly. The Commission publishes an annual compliance report on provider registration.
