The full answer

The pathway is six steps. First, prepare your policy pack and operational documentation against the Practice Standards modules relevant to your scope. Second, lodge an application via the NDIS Commission Provider Portal — free to lodge but you'll need to submit your self-assessment. Third, engage an Approved Quality Auditor (you choose from the panel). Fourth, complete the audit — Verification (desk only) for low-risk service types or Certification (Stage 1 + Stage 2 site visit) for higher-risk. Fifth, close any non-conformities within 90 days. Sixth, the Commission grants registration and issues your Provider Number. Total timeline: 12-26 weeks.
