The full answer
Cancelling registration is simpler than getting it. Steps: 1) Notify the NDIS Commission in writing of your intention to cancel (usually 30 days notice), 2) Transition all NDIA-managed participants to other registered providers, 3) For self-managed and plan-managed participants, send transition notice 14-28 days before cancellation, 4) Provide final invoicing and documentation, 5) Close your records and archive for 7 years, 6) Submit cancellation request and last audit or compliance evidence to the Commission. Your provider number cancels immediately. You can still work unregistered (plan-managed and self-managed only) or re-register later if desired. The main constraint is the current participant base — notify them early so they can find alternative providers.
