The steps

  1. Day 1 morning: NDIS Code of Conduct + Worker Orientation Module
  2. Day 1 afternoon: organisation, roles, policies overview
  3. Day 2 morning: participant cohort, service types delivered
  4. Day 2 afternoon: clinical/operational training (manual handling, medication, etc.)
  5. Day 3 morning: shadowing experienced staff
  6. Day 3 afternoon: competency check + paperwork sign-off
  7. Document everything in the staff training register

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Skipping the Worker Orientation Module
  • No competency check at end of induction
  • No documentation in training register
